I would like to add a few points of my own to their already comprehensive list which will get you noticed.To get your blog noticed you have to use common social websites. Sites like reddit, digg, facebook, twitter and others are frequently visited by bots. My previous article I submitted to reddit was the one about caching. Within 5 minutes it got hit by a flurry of bots, some of which come from sites I use to publish to story to my friends. In those bots are: Google, Baidu, Yahoo!, FriendFeed and numerous others some of which I don’t even know.
It seems that these search engine constantly track social linking sites to make sure they have every upcoming hype.
Another way to promote your blog is to write about other weblogs and react to their content. This is something I normally don’t do that much but it will drive some visitors to your website just to read another side of the story. If you go out and do this then don’t be a prick, write some real content people might be interested in.
